Acoustic Imaging and Its Practical Use

Half Day Course Outline:

This course will provide professional users the knowledge in pressurised/vacuum leaks, mechanical fault finding and PD measurements via acoustic imaging method.
 

Theoretical Session (9:00AM to 10:00AM)

• An introduction to the acoustic imaging camera and its limitations
• The benefits of acoustic imaging inspection and data handling for power and industrial applications
• Guidance on selecting the right acoustic imaging technology
 

Practical Session (10:00AM to 11:00AM)

• How to effectively operate an acoustic imager to locate and measure compressed air leaks, mechanical faults, and partial discharge anomalies
• Measurement parameters and detection modes

Reporting Software (11:00AM to 11:30AM)

• Data transfer methods
• Analysis and Interpretation of results
• Editing and generating of reports


Practical Assessment (each trainee should take acoustic measurement and have his own laptop to get familiarise with the software)

 
Advanced Acoustic PD Imaging Training (Optional)
• This is an additional half an hour to one hour session for in-depth training on PD acoustics theory and practical handling techniques, dedicated to professional users who have interest in partial discharge measurements from electrical and electro-mechanical equipment.
